Global Business Register Ltd., the premier provider of European, official company information, and Infogreffe, the Economic Interest Group which unites the registrars of France’s 135 commercial courts, today announced the signing of a distribution agreement for the provision and distribution of official company information covering over 3 million companies registered with the national companies register in France.
The Agreement was signed by Mr. Dominique Marolleau, Director General of Infogreffe and Mr. Ben Cronin, Chief Executive Officer of Global Business Register Ltd.
Commenting on the agreement Mr.Cronin said, “We are very excited about this opportunity to partner with Infogreffe. With the information Infogreffe will make available to us, we will be able to provide our clients across Europe with real-time access to the only set of official company filings from France. This will help, in a very substantial way, those firms that want to apply enhanced customer due diligence in the ongoing fight against corruption, money laundering, terrorism and other criminal activity, as they benefit from the single interface that GBRDirect offers for European companies registries.”
“We view our relationship with GBRDirect as a key stepping stone for us in the transition from paper-based reporting to providing an electronic standards-based approach for all users who wish to access official French company information. France has taken a leadership role in the development of the XBRL reporting standard and with GBRDirect’s commitment to supporting it, we will make the cross-border provision of consistent, reliable and homogenous company information in XBRL a reality” said Mr. Marolleau. “XBRL acts as a guarantee that the company data provided is in a standard format, is official and always up-to date, which in turn allows financial organizations and legal firms to significantly reduce the risk, time and cost involved in data integration. We are doing our best to help organizations by providing them with the right tools to help them focus where the risk is greatest so they can not only protect themselves, their reputation and their customer base, but also play their part in global efforts against money laundering and terrorist activity”.
